The Movement in One Minute

Aloft a platform, looming in a trainscape

Birds soar overhead in the wake of a jet liner

Rustling leaves and wrestling packages

Nearby, rushing street, light dancing on metal

Lit and used, a cigarette, traces a feather’s flight to the sidewalk

Foot smashes it

Lips peck at words like beaks on worms

Heads move toward whistle

Thoughts race

Train slows

Doors open

Feet walk

Doors close

Train leaves

Thoughts weave

  1. I love how the thoughts race as the train slows.
Well, the whole scene in fact flows with a lighthearted bustle. Nice.
